movie of the day!!!
The Break-up
( the link of the movie can be found by clicking on the title. )

An anti-romantic comedy that follows a couple's often comical, sometimes painful, but always entertaining journey into the unraveling and deconstruction of a once solid and loving relationship. Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston star in 'The Break-Up" which starts where most romantic comedies end: after boy and girl have met, fallen in love, moved in to start their happily-ever-after... and right when they wind up driving each other crazy. Pushed to the breaking-up point after their latest "why can't you do this one little thing for me?" argument, art dealer Brooke (Aniston) calls it quits with her husband, Gary (Vaughn), who hosts bus tours of Chicago. What follows is a series of remedies, war tactics, overtures and underminings suggested by the former couple's friends, confidantes and the occasional total stranger. When neither is willing to move out of the condo they used to share, the only solution is to continue living as hostile roommates until somebody caves. But somewhere between protesting the pool table in the living room, the dirty clothes stacked in the kitchen cupboards and the sports played at sleep-killing volume in the middle of night, Brooke begins to realize that what she may be really fighting for isn't so much the place but the person.

My say of the movie.

The movie was a good movie. It portrayed how a couple had their sweet moments before everything ended. It shows how a two year relationship of marriage can easily end due to the differences between two people. Even though love still exists, but then the differences overcame the love that led to a break up. The movie was filled with romance, comedy and dramas. Even though they both loved each other, but they refuse to give in to each other leading to fights. They hid their love, pain and suffering for each other. They had a hidden wish to go back with each other but none wish to say and both did not understand each other hidden meaning. At the end, what was left was a break up. A good movie though, it teaches how by hiding things within yourself would not help in a situation. Everything in life can be worked out in a way. It is not impossible to solve any problem you just need to give in. That is how someone can learn to maintain love. Share your thoughts with one another and nothing would go wrong. Hide everything and there would be trouble.

Stage 6: Differentiating
This is the stage filled with communication and interaction marked by over conflict. The intense differentiation may reflect that the relationship has developed too fast. An example would be when Brooke said " Why can't you do this one thing for me? " to Gary. Whenever they talked about a topic like that, they would get into a heated argument.

Stage 7: Circumstanscribing
This stage talks how communication became so restricted. It leads to how couples would help their conversation by saying " I don't want to talk about it". An example would be when after the fight they both had, they both shouted that they do not want to talk any more. Brooke would go to the room and Gary would leave the house. They both would not want to talk about it any more.

Stage 8: Stagnating
This stage is about a relationship that has the absence of joy and excitement. Everything that is done within life is all just a routine. The relationship is still held on as they would want to avoid the pain of termination. Brooke would enter her room when she reaches home and Gary would stay in the living room as that was his room at that point. They would do things separately but the thoughts of selling the house both would feel a sense of sadness. How they tried to get each other attention.

Stage 9: Avoiding
This stage would be when both would avoid each other. Their channels of communication are sealed as they would not want to communicate with each other. When Brooke left a note for Gary instead of telling him that the house is sold already. Gary only saw the note when he woke up. When he was home, she was always going out.

Stage 5: Terminating
The relationship comes to an end. Both parties would move on.
Gary and Brooke moved out of the house and signed the contract.

A question to think about.
How often have you kept something of sadness from another person that have led to fights? Is it true that a relationship both parties need to open up, share and give in?

What has become of kids these days??
the newspaper article :
Boys confess to killing two-year-old
( LINK TO THE NEWSPAPER CAN BE FOUND UNDER THE LINK)

summary of the article

The murder case happened in Argentina. A toddler at the age of two being killed by two boys, aged 7 and 9. She was found a few hundred metres away from her home dead. The toddler had been found hanging from a wall with wire around her neck. The victim was given brutal beating before she was apparently strangled. The two boys confessed to the crime in a few days later knowing that they were in a wrong. The neighbour of the young killers said that the kids had been beaten and abused by their parents since young. The two killers have been placed in the custody of a juvenile court judge who has ordered psychological examinations and an investigation into their living conditions.

My say of the article

This was a shocking article. It left me speechless. Thinking of how two kids as young as 7 and 9 years old killed a 2 year old is unbelievable. How they managed to kidnap the child, how they taught of ways that led to the murder? They are just young kids but yet they act just like adults. The young killers seemed as professional like killers that are seen on the media shows. It portrayed how the action packed movies might be the link to the way the kids killed the young girl. It was said that the two young killers were beaten and abused by their parents since young. Could this have led to their murder of the girl or could it through the media that they were showed to? Media have many influences in kids life. It have it positive and negative impact. A simple action packed movie can cause chaos as the kids are influenced by the media. The teachings that are taught within the movies have caused kids to learn and follow. Crime rates have risen through the these time.

Therefore, it is hard to say if parents or the media should be blame for what have happened.

What do you think?
parents or media?

movie of the day!!!
Definitely, Maybe

( the link of the movie can be found by clicking on the title. )

A thirty-something Manhattan dad is in the midst of a divorce when his 10-year-old daughter, Maya, starts to question him about his life before marriage. Maya wants to know absolutely everything about how her parents met and fell in love: Will's story begins in 1992, as a young, starry-eyed aspiring politician who moves to New York from Wisconsin in order to work on the presidential campaign. For Maya, Will relives his past as an idealistic young man learning the 'ins' and 'outs' of big city politics, and recounts the history of his romantic relationships with three very different women. Will hopelessly attempts a gentler version of his story for his daughter, and changes the names so Maya has to guess who is the woman her father finally married. Is her mother Will's college sweetheart, the dependable girl next door Emily? Is she his longtime best friend and confidante, the apolitical April? Or is she the free-spirited but ambitious journalist Summer? As Maya puts together the pieces of her dad's romantic puzzle, she begins to understand that love is not so simple or easy. And as Will tells her his tale, Maya helps him to understand that it is definitely never too late to go back--and maybe even possible to find a happy ending.

My say of the movie.

The movie was made in such a way where there was humor, romance and touching scenes. Everyone within the theatre were all guessing who Maya's mother was and who was her dad's real love was. There were three different ladies and only one was the love of his life. Who might it be ? By watching the movie, you would be deeply affected by the love stories that were told. The story showed how having someone by your side is a wonderful experience. Someone who stands by you in times of trouble, always encouraging you, taking care of you and making you feel loved. There is no doubt that this person definitely exists in this world. Everyone out there is always looking for someone to love and care for you. However, often after you miss your chance, it becomes difficult to be with the one you really love. This shows how important it is to treasure those that you really love and care for. Once you lost them, it might mean forever never being with them again. I learnt of this from the movie when I saw how Maya's dad nearly lost April, the love of his life.

This week during lesson, I learnt on the progression and development of relationships. There is a total of 10 stages divided into two phases. I will be covering on the first 5 stages of it. The coming together. I will be covering based on the love story of Will and April.

Stage 1: Initiating
It is the beginning within the relationship. It is just plainly just dating, everything is just cautious and "safe". It is usually the first date whereby it would be your self-presentation. Will meets April at a presidential campaign. April is often seen sharing her strong opinions with Will. Will on the other hand find April passionate, caustic and brilliant. This is the beginning.

Stage 2: Experimenting
It is the stage where people understand each other. They would have their small talk with each other as they disclose certain secrets about themselves. It would like the moments where Will and April met with each other at the bar laughing and having fun. They would have small talk that was how Will found out that April was looking for a book that belonged to her dad. That was why, she had lots of Jane Eyre books as she was looking for the one.

Stage 3: Intensifying
This was the stage when there was increased commitment, awareness , and participation. There would be physical contact involved and disclosure to the other party. There was a certain scene within the movie, where they used no words to describe their feelings. Instead, they kissed and showed how actually they loved each other.

Stage 4: Integrating
This is the stage where people would label themselves as a couple. It was when they got together, they fell in love. Will confessed his love for April.

Stage 5: Bonding
The final stage would be when the bonding between both parties comes about. Formalities the obligation and commitment are being build along time. It is when Will and April hang out together and started dating officially. It showed how their love blossomed and how it grew.

I feel that there are many things about love that we should learn about. It is important to treasure who you love and or let you want to love next time know how much they mean to you.

Today, send a message the person you treasure how much you love and treasure them. Place a smile on their face.

A question for everyone to ponder.
Have you lost a chance on someone you value very dearly? If there was a chance to go back, would you have done everything differently or it was just simply a lesson learnt?

movie of the day!!!
CLICK
( the link of the movie can be found by clicking on the title. )

Michael Newman ( Adam Sandler ) is a workaholic architect working hard to keep his wife and kids happy. One night, Michael is on the road in search of an open store that may sell him a universal remote control to make his life easier. At the Bed, Bath, & Beyond store, Michael meets Morty, the inventor of a very advanced piece of technology, a remote control that not only controls his TV, but controls his whole life!!! Now that he's using the remote on a regular basis, his work-life and family-life are finally in balance, he's trying harder than he ever imagined to spend more time with his family. Now, frustrated that his stuck up boss hasn't made him partner at his construction firm yet, he uses the remote to fast-forward through his life until his promotion. What he doesn't realize is that he has skipped through a whole year. The remote is now powered by its memory, and starts to fast-forward through crucial moments in his life, including arguments, foreplay, traffic, and, worst of all, promotions at his job. One year turns into ten years and than another six years. Will he be able to get his life back before its entirely gone?

My say of the movie.

After watching the movie, i feel that the movie was really touching and a nice movie to watch. Even though this is a very old movie, but it's romance within the movie touched me and left an impact in my life. Especially the quote, 'will you still love me in the morning? Forever and ever babe'. This sentence appeared before Michael was about to die. He had to face the consequences as he played with the remote. It was something he had to face. However, he regretted his decision but it was somehow too late. It was a lesson he learnt. He learned to treasure his family and learnt that not everything just simply involves around his job promotion . The movie had its scene of romance, humor and drama.

Last week during lesson, I learned nonverbal cues. It is communication that occurs when a stimulus other than words creates meaning in the mind of communicator. There are many different types of nonverbal communication. Here are a few that i spotted in the movie.

emblems: When the kids, Ben and Samantha placed their finger on their mouth to show silence and not to say another word at the beginning of the movie.

Regulators: When Micheal was trying to tell the kids that the dog is not doing what they think it is by rising his hands.
How the swimming coach was showing Ben one point after the other by moving his hand.

Illustrators: When the customer was allowing Micheal to promote the statue, he moved his hands in a wavy action.

Paralinguistics: When the customer was not happy with Micheal presentation, he raised his pitch of his voice to sound discontent.
When Micheal was not happy when the people playing with the fireworks keep scaring him that he scolded and shouted at them loudly.

Objectics: The special remote control that was being used through the whole movie.

Oculesics: When Micheal was able to die, he looked at Donna in the eye as he wanted to read her the message that he wrote. There was eye contact within that scene.

Haptics: When Micheal gave Samantha a hug before her wedding, to show fatherly love.

Promxemics: When the mother was giving birth to Micheal in the past, it showed that his father was next to the mother within intimate distance as they are lovers.

Affect displays: When Donna and Micheal kissed to apologize to each other for the fights they had. There is love being showed within the scene.

After watching the whole show, and learning the positive and negative points of this remote control, I suddenly thought of this. That is, if i were given the remote control what will i do with it? Keep it or throw it away.

So will you all keep the remote or throw it away? If it will help you to have a fast paced life and you will be able to find your happiness in it. You have total control of your life.
Comment me to what you feel and why.
